ABOUT THE TIGER

Wild and free, it is impossible ever to fully tame the Tiger, which even after many years in captivity can turn on and maim, or even kill its keeper. Part of the reason is the Tiger's unpredictability, a trait which it holds in common with its human counterparts. Of course, the similarity doesn't end here; both sorts of Tigers have a tremendous love of freedom, each is courageous, quick and intrepid.

The human Tiger is a person apart, and it takes a great deal of probing and more than a little intuition before it would be possible to announce, with any truth, that you really know one. Originality seems to be the key, some would say to the point of being deliberately different. There is no doubt that the Tiger revels in his or her ability to keep the world guessing, and most of these felines also have a distinct preference for their own company. The latter is something of a paradox, since the Tiger is also capable of being very socially minded. In some ways this aspect of the nature could be considered a 'front', probably one of the reasons why the Tiger makes such a splendid actor or actress.

The Tiger is not only a very refined person, who loves nothing more than a night out at the ballet or theatre, but is also quite creative in his or her own right. A love of music is often evident and many Tigers are also excellent at fine art or sculpture. The home of the feline is apt to be tasteful, stylish and yet genuinely original. Regular alterations in decor do not reflect a respect for trends, but are more a sign of the Tiger's need to ring the changes. Miss Tiger especially, is immaculate in her own right, as well as being liberated, independent and even radical on occasions.

All Tigers have deep humanitarian instincts and can often be found slaving away on behalf of the poor or politically downtrodden of the world. Others will be found forging a path through uncharted wastes or perhaps being the first to cross the Atlantic in an eggcup. The need to do the extraordinary is almost second-nature to the Tiger, a fact that is just as important on an intellectual level as it is with regard to the more physical aspects of life. Whatever might be considered to be different in life is meat and drink to the very original, free thinking and independent Tiger.
