Consider the inoffensive rabbit. This creature is a mildmannered
herbivore. It has many natural enemies and has to keep a sharp eye
out for predators of all kinds, both on the ground and from the air.
Relatively defenceless, the Rabbit nevertheless manages to survive,
utilising a mixture of cunning, camouflage and a stunning
reproductive potential.
The human rabbit, as with the case of all animals in the Chinese
zoo, shares some of the attributes of its animal counterpart, not
least its ability to survive and even flourish in circumstances that
might see bigger and braver souls going under. The Rabbit desires,
and usually finds, a peaceful existence, is a refined person and
enjoys a high degree of popularity.
The Rabbit does require a fair amount of interest in his or her life
and will often gravitate towards situations that seem to be
stimulating, only to move onto the next objective as soon as
interest wanes. This can make the Rabbit seem a little aloof on
occasions, though it is almost impossible to either disregard or to
dislike a person who is so kind and generally quite personable. All
Rabbits will soon remove themselves from situations of confrontation
or aggression.
You will often find this character at home, for both Bucks and Does
love to make a comfortable little abode for themselves and will go
to almost any length to make their nearest and dearest happy too.
This is not to infer that the human Bunny is anti-social - quite the
opposite, for the Rabbit's gentle, refined humour makes this person
welcome anywhere.
Don't be fooled though. Every Rabbit has a mind of his or her own,
even if you are deliberately fooled into believing that here is a
creature who accepts your point of view without any hesitation.
Beneath the surface the Rabbit is burrowing away at your
subconscious, subtly breaking down your prejudices and
diplomatically bringing you round to his or her point of view. Even
when it becomes obvious that you are being manipulated, it's hard to
feel offended. The Rabbit person is generally an affable soul and
not at all the sort of individual that most people would want to
fall out with. Despite a little subterfuge, the Rabbit doesn't
pretend to be a loveable character, it really is one!
